The Future Of Crypto Trading: Automation, Trading Bots & What I’ve Been Building

From Ideas To Working Applications: My Journey Into Crypto Trading Automation & Market Intelligence

I spent much of 2026 updating my website, starting with older publications. It’s quite an extensive task. However, I hope to finish it and ultimately create a site-wide standard. The interesting part of this journey is that it pushed me to start creating and developing applications. My first successful project was the Market Watch crypto intelligence app, which Android users can download for free on Google Play.

This was followed by my journey into automated trading software, more commonly known as trading bots. This is an exciting niche, especially for a long-time trader like me. However, a trading bot is only as good as its predefined parameters and protocols. Essentially, I created trading rules based on my existing trading strategies and applied them to an automated recurring system.

I built my first trading bot and am working on the second. The strategies incorporated into the second protocol will be very similar to the first. However, I have a few ideas to fine-tune my existing model even further. Unlike building apps and other projects, trading bots are an entirely different animal. A successful project can be a very long-term passive income stream.

How AI & Trading Bots Are Shaping Crypto’s Future

Did you know that between 60% and 80% of crypto trading volume is thought to be conducted by trading bots and other forms of automation? That’s quite a remarkable figure, especially if the top end of the scale is true. AI has reshaped so many industries in such a short time; it makes sense that market-related activities like trading will shift significantly in the coming years.

In fact, as the data suggests, the shift has already been triggered. I was not really impressed by the idea of trading bots a few years ago. However, the AI and technological advancements in recent years provide an entirely different scenario and one that I am very interested in leveraging. Some traders prefer to build their own bots using exchanges like Pionex and other leading platforms.

Exchange / Buy / Sell Crypto

I chose to build my trading bots from the ground up using Python—some aspects a predesigned bot can’t handle. My strategies are fairly unique, so to replicate them in an automated environment, I have to build my own bots. For the most part, it’s enjoyable. Certain areas can sometimes keep you tied up for ages. That can get frustrating. However, seeing them make profitable trades makes it all worthwhile.

Smarter, Faster Trading Without Emotion Or Constant Monitoring

Markets move fast, especially in crypto! Automated trading solutions give traders predefined rules and activation triggers, set with more advanced and intricate protocols than typical trading engines offer. This is incredibly powerful, especially when it can run across an entire market, not just a few isolated assets. There are obviously times when the hands-on approach is better.

However, you can’t sit around waiting for those moments. One of the most difficult aspects of using a bot, at least for me, is not interfering with trades and allowing the bot to do its thing. Essentially, this is the only way to establish its true profitability. The idea is to build a trading machine that requires no human intervention, so discipline is imperative.

Where To Find Free Crypto Trading Bots & Start Automated Trading

Many leading crypto exchanges offer trading bots that let users automate their trades. KuCoin and Gate are good examples of exchanges where many users use exchange-based trading bots. Pionex is another good example, especially since it focuses on automated trading, bots, and bot creation. I have found many of these bots to work reasonably well.

However, I’ve found profitability to be rather limited. That’s why I decided to build my own. Using exchange-based bots is still a good way to get familiar with automated trading. You don’t necessarily need to build your own to advance in this particular field; there are other ways to level up your game once you feel you are ready for the challenge, or that your P&L suggests it.

Final Thoughts

I am really excited about this direction, especially since I have only backtested my bots. November will be my first 30-day experiment of actual live trading. My best backtested figure was 24.7% over 30 days. I’ve since made some enhancements, so I am excited to see whether I can outperform that figure in November. That’s it for this one! Happy trading, and I will see you next time!
