As always, we begin with market sentiment: are market participants bullish or bearish? CoinGlass, a cryptocurrency market data and analytics platform, provides the following sentiment data. To create a free account, visit the official CoinGlass website. Experienced traders and market participants can upgrade to a paid membership for access to additional tools and data.

  • Very Bullish – 9%
  • Bullish – 20%
  • Neutral – 21%
  • Bearish – 31%
  • Very Bearish – 18%

Market sentiment for 3 September appears more bearish than it was yesterday. However, altcoins as a whole are performing relatively well. Overall bullish sentiment is down from 33% to 29%. Neutrality sits at 21%. This metric appears to be somewhat stagnant and generally fluctuates between 20% and 22%. Overall bearish sentiment remains flat at 49%. Market sentiment essentially mirrors yesterday’s data, with only a slight reduction in bullish sentiment.

The Fear & Greed index measures the emotional state and mood of cryptocurrency investors. Historically, extreme fear is an attractive level to buy, while extreme greed is often a good level to sell and realize profits. However, the index should never be interpreted in isolation, as it is not an absolute mathematical law, but a signal that should be used alongside additional signals, technical analysis, and on-chain data.

Crypto Bubbles reveals another stellar day for ARB, up another 19.7%. CAKE, KAS, and ADA are also up between 5% and 8%. Apart from a handful of alts, the Crypto Bubbles data is a sea of green. MORPHO and SKY are the day’s biggest losers. As mentioned, altcoins are performing relatively well, even as bullish sentiment weakens. Much of the sentiment is likely connected to BTC, which is trading flat at $78K.

The Altcoin Season Index measures leading altcoins against Bitcoin over a rolling 90-day period. The index ranges from 0 to 100. Regarding individual altcoins, a higher positive reading indicates that market consensus is moving beyond Bitcoin. A negative reading reveals that Bitcoin is dominating the broader crypto market. The Altcoin Season Index is one of the more interesting metrics, as strength against BTC over 90 days is a data point worth considering seriously.

The Altcoin Season Index has gained strength after being stuck at 38 for the past couple of days. Today, the index has moved up to exactly 50, signaling a neutral market. However, altcoins are moving in conjunction with the shift from 38 to 50. SOL, LINK, and ETH continue to outperform BTC, with SOL up as much as 59.8% over the past 90 days. AVAX and DOT continue to show marked improvement and could be well within the green in a matter of days.

The crypto industry moves and adapts incredibly fast. Stay up to date with the latest developments, news releases, and crypto-related articles shaping the market.
