Decentralized Infrastructure Crypto
DePIN was one of the strongest sectors in 2024 and 2025. It was a strong sign that real-world utility still matters and, in fact, is a strong proponent of tokenization and RWA. Decentralized Infrastructure Networks are building blockchain-based services that will be critical in 2026 and beyond. Unlike fads, DePIN is a structural shift regarding design and real-world use cases. This is important to keep in mind.
Projects that succeed will ultimately succeed in the long term, provided they remain relevant and deliver great customer service and utilities. Genuine adoption, further facilitated by earning potential, will ultimately anchor and propel successful candidates into a new era in which data takes on the attributes of value and even currency. This is part of a key shift. One that I refer to as the age of intelligence.
I address the concept of data and intelligence as a modern-day currency in a 2024 article. Essentially, the concept of data as currency will grow in the age of intelligence, ultimately paving the way for a new, foundational currency in a predominantly digital world and economy. DePIN is at the heart of this shift, and although this sector is still in its infancy, there are already some promising projects.
Why Peaq Could Be The Backbone Of The DePIN Boom
The Peaq ecosystem is a constant theme on Sapphire Crypto, as it is a DePIN-focused, exclusive blockchain primarily centered on projects in the sector. For now, DePIN might still be considered somewhat of a niche. However, I expect that to change significantly in the coming years. One of the projects that warrants your attention in 2026 is Teneo, which is primarily focused on extracting social media data. According to the official Teneo website, 99.9% of all real-world data remains inaccessible to the WEB3 space.

Teneo focuses on extracting high-value social media data, which is unlike many other, more common DePIN models. The fact that it is built on and utilizes Peaq makes an interesting development to monitor, especially as Teneo has not yet released its initial airdrop. If you are interested in “mining” or “farming” Teneo points, use code 8cTvc to get 2.500 Extra Teneo Points.

The next project to keep an eye on in 2026 is Kaisar Network. Regular readers, especially regarding DePIN-focused content, will be aware of how bullish I am on Kaisar. In fact, I am extremely bullish on bot these projects. You can read more about Kaisar Network in an article I previously published. Much like Teneo, Kaisar is yet to announce its initial airdrop. You will also notice that many DePINs on Solana don’t survive.
Peaq projects naturally tend to be of a higher caliber, with stronger intent and commitment to their respective roadmaps. Peaq itself is in a prime position for accumulation. When you consider the extent and potential scope of what is being built on Peaq, less than $0.02 is an absolute steal.
DeNet – A Highly Anticipated Initial Airdrop
Yes, DeNet has kept loyal DePIN enthusiasts waiting. However, this is the most solid of all the projects I have mentioned in this article. DeNet is a decentralized storage project that is already functional. DePIN miners have been earning WN tokens daily, which will be converted to DeNet tokens during the TGE. When I examine the profitability of the initial Silencio airdrop, I am encouraged as DeNet is a more significant project.
Additional Worthy DePIN Mentions In 2026: More Projects To Watch And Research
Despite Solana not having a particularly healthy DePIN survival rate, it’s important to note that Grass, one of the most successful DePIN projects, is, in fact, Solana-based. Nodepay is a successful project in terms of functionality. However, earnings-wise, it is a little compromised in my strict opinion. The one Solana DePIN I am relatively bullish on is Gradient Network.

Gradient is another DePIN project that is yet to announce its initial airdrop. Ultimately, many DePIN projects have chosen to wait for the issuance of rewards due to the altcoin market’s poor state. However, a positive shift within the altcoin market is likely to trigger a run of fresh DePIN airdrops, and these are the ones I am mining and watching closely.
Final Thoughts
I am going to mention something that I have mentioned in previous articles. However, I believe it to be imperative. When mining via free-to-use DePIN applications, it’s imperative to set up old devices to run 24/7. This increases earnings significantly. Uptime is a crucial deciding factor regarding DePIN mining. This was one of the main factors contributing to my $600 GRASS airdrop. At that stage, my referral base was rather insignificant. I will leave you with that thought. All the best! See you next time!
