The Reshaping Of Global Stratification & The Role Of Crypto

The Global Adjustment

As we stand back and examine the recent global events of chaos and uncertainty, it is clear that there is a shaking and transition currently unfolding in our world. Many things no longer even make sense. The once-powerful US appears to be on a collision course with self-destruction. How is it even possible that a nation-state can consistently and consecutively continue making the worst possible decisions? Policies that are “suicidal” in nature are being made for the “good of the country”.

This may be disturbing to onlookers, but for many citizens, it is disturbing enough to “get out”. Florida appears to be the only jurisdiction with any level of common sense remaining. Much of this began with covid, and once loyal patriots realized they would be better off elsewhere. This was also quite evident to many in the Crypto space, looming laws and policies threatened to limit and infringe on their freedoms.

Not only that, but many also envisioned an actual threat in terms of their earning capacity, due to limitations and taxation. This sparked a significant move into locations such as Portugal and Puerto Rico. Malta and Thailand also became locations of choice. Now you will note that people are leaving First World countries in favor of countries that are ranked much lower in terms of income potential and economic strength.

The distinction of countries in regard to wealth, resources, and other economic data is known as global stratification. The following is an excerpt from StudySmarter describing global stratification:

Accordingly, global stratification refers to the distribution of wealth, power, prestige, resources, and influence among the world’s nations. In terms of the economy, global stratification refers to the distribution of wealth among the world’s nations.

Now the important aspect to take note of here is that people are leaving top-tier countries in favor of countries that rank much lower in terms of “financial satisfaction”, and even service delivery. The screenshot below clearly highlights how some of the locations I have just mentioned are at the “bottom end of the scale”.

Reversion

Looking at many First World countries gives one the impression that they are actually in a state of reversion. Once sophisticated nations, now seem to be going backward in multiple areas that are inherently critical to stability and advancement. One also needs to bear in mind that when individuals and families leave these jurisdictions, they take their wealth with them. This is likely to be invested in real estate once they arrive at their destination of choice.

Online income, and specifically Crypto income, enables individuals to be independent of location. Whereas, previously, if one desired a higher level of income, the only solution was to find employment in a First World country. Those days are gone, although, for many, it is still quite applicable. However, what I am suggesting is that it is no longer expedient. Earning potential within the Crypto sector is not dependent upon location.

In actual fact, many Cryptoneurs operate as digital nomads. As First World countries become increasingly unstable and unreasonable in regard to their policies and laws, expect Third World countries to become increasingly attractive to those with “means”. Many Third World countries are restricted in terms of economic growth and other important partnerships due to corruption. However, that only affects those earning an income within their borders.

If income is generated online, many will opt for the amazing beaches and freedom. They will simply find ways to work around the “negatives” such as poor service delivery and other issues that can be resolved, provided one has “means”. Crypto is very much at the heart of this transition. As I mentioned earlier on, covid and other regulatory issues were already enough of a motivation in recent years.

There are however a number of First World countries that are still “worthy” of the status. The screenshot below shows a heat map identifying First World countries across the globe.

With citizens having access to location-independent income, this heat map might look somewhat different in 10 to 15 years’ time. Crypto will play a key role in diversifying wealth outside of the once sought-after jurisdictions.

Final Thoughts

In so many ways, things are beginning to change. When one considers WEB3 and AI… it just becomes so blatantly clear how fast our world is moving toward digital expression. Location independence is becoming more and more prevalent, and Crypto is leading the field. Expect things to change drastically in the next 10 to 15 years. Furthermore, expect once-unknown locations to become sought-after jurisdictions of residency. Obviously, these are my own thoughts, opinions, and predictions regarding the future. Either way, things are going to appear somewhat differently in the world of tomorrow.
